Who is... Phoenix on the Fault Line
According to some, Phoenix on the Fault Line started in 2007 but there are rumors and urban myths that they may actually be from the future, closer to the year 3317 A.D. While the band’s origin may be shrouded in mystery and myth, they will tell you it is the music and the brotherhood that is important.
What we do know is that Phoenix on the Fault Line AKA, POTFL has played shows all over the Midwest from Illinois to Pennsylvania. Some of their songs have gained attention from radio play on stations in New York, Michigan, Indianapolis, Illinois, and as far out as the United Kingdom. They have three full-length LP albums and one EP album as well as several singles floating around on the internet.
Below is a timeline of the band’s adventures.
In August 2008 the band opened for Fat Lady Music's Egypt Central on their Indianapolis tour date.
In mid-2008 they released their first full-length album, Goodbye on Monday.
In 2009 they were part of several showcase events sponsored by Indianapolis radio station X103.3
In late 2010 they opened for Bright Antenna rockers, Middle-Class Rutt.
In February of 2011 Phoenix on the fault line opened for Valiant Thorr & CLUTCH in a sold-out event at The Vogue Theater in Indianapolis IN.
In May of 2011, the band opened for Victory records, Taproot.
In mid-2011 they released their five-song EP, titled 1733 BC.
In late Sept. 2011 Indianapolis radio station X103.3 asked POTFL to take part in a tribute to the Nirvana album Nevermind by recording their take on the track In Bloom. The compilation album was released later that year titled Forevermind.
In October of 2011, it was announced that Phoenix on the fault line had made it to the final four bands in the nation, in the Killians Irish Red Ruckus contest.
Then only a month later they had made it to the finals in the Indianapolis music contest, Indy's Next Big Thing presented by Jack Daniels and Q95.
Also in October of 2011, the band emerged as the champions of The Birdy's Battle of the Bands 2011.
They announced the release of their second album titled Basement of the Coliseum in early December of 2011.
Resurfacing on March 19th, 2012, X103.3 and the band announced that Phoenix on the fault line would play the May Day concert with Stained, Eve 6, Neon Trees, The Dirty Heads, Sleeper Agent & Walk the Moon at Klipsch Music Center.
Only days after, the band also announced that they would be opening for Hurt on May 22nd, 2012.
In March of 2013, the band announced that they would release their third full-length album entitled "Zombie Kill 85" a concept album that tells the tale of a zombie apocalypse, in mid-summer 2013.
Simultaneously Phoenix On The Fault Line announced the release of a self-published novel entitled 9 Shall Rise. The Novel is a companion to their 2011 album Basement of the Coliseum.
On August 18, 2013, the band had the honor of playing Klipsch Music Center alongside Andrew W.K. and the legendary Black Sabbath.
On Oct. 23, 2013, The band opened for Weathermaker Music’s Lionize touring with national act Deep Swell.
In August of 2014, After a show at Radio Radio in Indianapolis IN, the band went missing.
2022AD … Strange rumblings and electrical disturbances have been reported in the southern regions of the Indianapolis area. Some believe that the band has returned from the future to rock once more.
